Crouching Tiger Meets Golden Dragon's Birthday!

Ephesians 1:15-17 (New International Version)

Thanksgiving and Prayer
15For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. 17I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.

Today is my Golden Birthday which means that I am now 22 on the 22nd of February of the year 2010! It is a special day because I am in South Africa now with many cool people.

Looking back in my life, I am thankful to the Lord for so many things such as my family, friends, and education. Since my family sometimes is far away from me, I have friends that have become as dear to me as family. I have so many stories from the people and places that I have seen in Bolivia, Taiwan, USA, Argentina, Mexico, and now South Africa.

1. I would like to thank God for his Grace, Mercy, Love, and Goodness in my life that has carried me to the place where I am now and will continue to do so.

2. I wanna thank my parents for their joy, and happiness to my parents (Alex and Jasmine). My mom and dad have provided me with opportunities, education, and above all, Love. that has brought me to the place where I am, and it has shaped me who I am. My prayers go to you.

3. My sisters (Mery and Roxy) and my cousins (Monica, Carlos, y Susana) because there is no one in the world that can understand me and love me the way they do. My prayers go to you.

4. I thank my friends here in South Africa and friends around the world. I thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and love.

I pause today for a moment on my 22nd birthday to reflect because I forget sometimes how many people pray for me, for you, for us, and for them. Thank you!

Remembering through Prayer.

It's 2010...where u been?

Sanibonani (means "hello everyone" in Zulu!)

It has been said many of times that life is about the journey...not the destination. I think this is true except that I am now in South Africa. It can only put it into words as an ADVENTURE. It is an adventure because I have never been to Africa before, and I am with 52 other students from Azusa Pacific University.

With so many people and places in the world to see, smell, taste, and hear, I think it is crucial to be able to record my thoughts and experiences. This is why I started this blog. I invite you to share in these experiences with me. It is my first time writing a blog, so I will try to keep it simple and interesting. =).

At the moment, I am here in Pietermaritzburg in Kwazulu-Natal. It is located on the eastern part of South Africa. I will write more about the most recent events that have occurred. I am here in South Africa! It is a very exciting moment in my life, but let's not forget about God's goodness and grace that accompanies us in our past, present, and future! Thank you for your prayers and encouragement that have carried me here to South Africa!

It's 2010...where u been? (oh...I don't know... South Africa!)

Who Am I?

Ladies and gentleman (people in my alpha group),

Welcome to Chin Jung Jien's Blog a.k.a "Tony" or "Toe-Knee". First of all, I want to point out that I am a very confused person. You may never fully understand a person, and most people try to do this the first time they meet a person. At this blog, I will attempt to answer the question to a difficult answer: "Who am I?"

Before I begin, I would like to state that a person consists of a body, mind, and spirit. Therefore, it is very hard to write a blog about who a person is because experience is different than knowledge. Everybody is different because we all come from different places with different experiences. Enough of the philosophies...

My name is Chin Jung Jien, but I go by Tony. Both of my parents are from Taiwan, but I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. I am a sophomore nursing major at Azusa Pacific University. I was raised in a family with an older sister, Mery, and a younger sister Roxy. My older sister just graduated from APU.

If you could literally describe me with four words, I think it would be "out of control/crazy". I am a very much a people person, and i love helping people. Dancing like a maniac could be one of my hobbies. I do like photography. I do play soccer, volleyball, and basketball. I listen to all kinds of music, and I am open to hear new music all the time. If you don't know me, I hope to meet you someday...
